Only A White Horse by the Window

The seventh story of the anthology short story series “A Song from the Laundry Room” is titled “A White Horse by the Window”.
This story records a white horse through the window of one of the oldest townhouses on Strandgade 30, Copenhagen.

In 1889, one young lady was reading a letter, standing near a table laid with a double coffee pot and a cup. The table, the closed door behind her, and the open door in front of her in the grey room. In 1900, winter dust-filled light was shining diagonally down into the empty room through the window, a pattern of light and shade falling on the wooden floor. The bare paneled walls, without any furnishing or decorations, are in the room. In 1901, the young lady was playing a piano, Butter and two plates were on the white clothed table.

In 2019, the young lady was no longer reading a letter, standing beside the table, no dust-filled light shone down into the room; Neither piano melody, nor plates and butter. There was only a white horse standing by the window, telling me a pervasive quietness and mysterious emptiness.

短編アンソロジーのシリーズ「A Song from the Laundry Room」7作目のストーリーのタイトルは「A White Horse by the Window」です。

A song from the laundry room

“A song from the laundry room” is my latest anthology short story series which seems it doesn’t make any sense for someone else. However, I personally have it as a small treasure of my life.
The title of the series “A song from the laundry room” is named after the sentence from Brazilian author Clarice Lispector’s novel.
